In some places, we are actually using the cache to store used cache keys, just to be able to clear parts of the cache.

I’m aware of this limitation. I'll make a note about this and add a separate annotation for removing from cache.Notice, however, that it's not possible to clear the complete Memcache on GAE or just selected parts of it as you mentioned.

At this time, you could clear cached entry using the @MemCacheSetter annotation, setting the value to null. Expiration cache is good but there are often situations where you want to clear parts of the cache.

This looks really interesting! As far as I recall, "Hello World" type of application with Stripes that I tried on App Engine was starting up in just a couple of seconds. (I based BugDigger on Stripes and currently it needs about 15 seconds to start up.) Before that I was trying to use Grails, which was a disaster... its dynamic nature is resource hungry resulting in too many deadline exceptions on App Engine, in many cases completely preventing application to start up. Did you try SpringMVC that way to see how much time goes to the framework initialization? So, I can only recommend Stripes (not only for use on App Engine but for standalone applications too). It proved as a really stable and well thought framework.P.S. I have some hours available in June so feel free to contact me if you need any developer help.

No, I don’t. We're using SpringMVC and since the framework takes so long to start up the app often gets deadline exceeded exceptions during loading requests. Thanks

Are you seeing deadline exceeded exceptions with Stripes?
